BOSOWA Cement Plant Sulawesi, Indonesia, 1998-2001
On contract from PT Semen Bosowa Maros, Daewoo E&C Ltd, Seoul, was awarded the contract in 1998 to build a cement plant with a capacity of 5,500 tpd on the Sulawesi Island in Indonesia.Daewoo Engineering & Construction Ltd partnered with Fuller Inc (USA), and Lysander Shipping was awarded the logistics of the project.

Lysander Shipping undertook the feasibility study and produced a transportation/ logistics manual to Daewoo E&C after visits to the site and discussions with the client and the local authorities. The first shipment of equipment to site commenced in May 1998.
The limestone gyratory crushers - 22.5m, clay crushers, FLS stacker/reclaimer, 5,000 kW roller mill, preheater/preclaimer and clinker cooler were made by Fuller Inc/FL Smidth in Europe and shipped from Antwerp to site on a chartered vessel with heavy lift gear, and the main generators and transformers were sourced and shipped from the USA.
The cement plant commenced production of high quality clinker and Portland Cement in early 2001 and is one of the largest cement plants in Indonesia.
